Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 18 Nov 2006 22:55

Well, Charlotte had the result of her first entry test for one senior school today and she was sadly unsuccessful. BUT the cut off point was 105 and she scored 101 - fantastic effort and such a shame to be so close. Her best friend scored 83 so I was even more impressed with her performance, as I thought they were of similar ability. Then tonight Jamie swam in the cubs swimming gala - he was in 3 races (6 entrants in each) and came 4th, 5th and 5th, he gave it his all and was so pleased with himself! So I am a very proud mummy tonight :-))) Maz. XX

lol David and Pat - good job I've got a bucket handy !! Joan - have just sent you a message elsewhere - didn't expect you to be here! Shelli - well this was just the 1st stage for this school - whittling down 1600 applicants to 600 for the 2nd stage! She still has to sit the 11 plus for another school in dec and jan, will find out the results of that when schools are allocated on 1 march next year. Long time to wait now. Thank you everyone else for your posts! Maz. XX

Maz will keepfingers crossed for next tests then. You find out the same day as us, and you're right it is a long time. Am so glad the boys aren't academic meant it was much easier to choose schools for them...

A big ((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))) and pat on the back for Charlotte and Jamie, they are a credit to the wonderful woman they call mum. Hope Charlotte gets offers for the rest of the schools. And you never know, a few children my go to other schools and she'll get offered a place anyway. Am so glad that the 11+ was scrapped at home in the 70's, I went to a Comprehesive that use to be a Grammer and we still get fab exam results, my brother is in a Comp that was a secondry Moden and they also have brill exam results - the boys old grammer (now comp) is rubbish, not so good exam results, probs with attendence, lack of respect and it's were my brother should go but we took him out of catchment area.

thanks girls! Head teacher says she will do well wherever she goes - I hope so as the schools round here (if she doesn't pass the 11 plus) don't have the best reputations .... huge understatement there! Maz. XX
