Recipe for Marrow Rum...

Get a marrow and cut the end off and scoop out the seeds. Upend the marrow and push a knitting needle through it and leave it there. Put 1lb Demerara sugar into the marrow and then pour in a bottle of Navy Rum. Put the upended marrow into a large sweetie jar and let the rum drip down the knitting needle into the jar. This will take a few weeks but the resulting liquid is brilliant ! |

kris my fil took the end of the marrow scooped all the seeds out then filled the marrow with brown sugar put the top on stuck it on with cello tape then put it in a muslim bag suspended over a bucket and left drip until the marrow had dissolved the liquid is then bottled and left for a while he found some in a cubboard he had put away 10yrs previous you can imagine what it tasted like i never had anything like it before or since eileen |
