Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 18 Nov 2006 22:45

Thank you all, well as you can imagine its been harrowing for all this last 8 months since she was diagnosed. Bless her she dealt with it really well.i think her worse moment was in the 3rd week after chemo started when her hair started to come out. She knew it would happen but when it started she was distraught. She did get to the end of coping very near the end of chemo cos she knew after each fortnightly session what the side effects would be and when they would cut in. It was a lot of travelling for us and loads of support needed too ,but thats what being a parent is all about. they never stop being our child whatever their age. Hope we can all take a breather now and look forward to a good Xmas. Thank you all again for the positive vibes and goodwishes . I am a believer in positive thought. Shirley

Fantastic news Shirely. So pleased for everyone concerned. I know it has been a very busy and stressful time for everyone. Perhaps you and your husband will be able to sit back and relax and recharge your batteries for a while. Jean x.

Thanks Lynda !! My did she enjoy!! she was told no fast foods whilst she was having chemo cos of the danger of undercooked meat OR meat that had been kept warm . It may harbour germs like salmonella which her immune system couldn't fight due to the chemo. NOW she 's not a great McDonald's fan but she got the yen for one simply cos she couldn't have it. Her hubby promised her it would be the first thing she could have once she got the all clear McDonald was the first place they went to from the hospital !! LOL Shirley
