Does anybody understand these? My daughter has an offer coming through from the University of Wales that would require her to achieve 220 UMS points. I've looked at a couple of websites and can't make head or tail of it. Is there an easy way to figure out what this means in terms of grades? Come on you clever people out there - we didn't have this in my day. Thanks in anticipation. Sheila |

Each A level grade is worth points and you can have points for other things too like Gold Duke of Edinburgh and grades 6,7,8 music exams etc. Instead of specifying specific grades for each of her subjects she is being asked for total points and it's up to her how she gets them. Isn't there any info on the UCAS site? Janice |

Sorry Janice, had to go and take the potential university entrant to her friend's house and haven't got back on the computer until now. That looks like a good offer then - three Bs will do it with some to spare. Looks like at least she's going to university somewhere! Thanks Sheila |
