here in scarborough they have cancelled the lights because the council have said it is unsafe to have so many people in one place at one time! last year they said that there were 10000 people and they are afraid that someone may get hurt. fizz from corrie was due to do the honours, but not any more. bah humbug!!!!!!!!!!!! they will still be lit but not with any fuss. tina x

Won't be having any where I live, as we don't have any street lights at any time! But, I do enjoy looking at the ones in towns, especially now it starts to get dark in the late afternoons. Jay

Hi Lynn, I suggest you go. Have a good time and enjoy!!! Pick up some new bits and bobs to decorate your home and get something special. Take the girls with you too and make a day of it. I go mad with decorations, but as we've had so much on lately, I've been told to keep it 'simple'. Yeah, right, not if I got my Wayne bringing his littl'un this year!!! Got to have my twinkley lights and real tree and lots of pretty decs up....... Besides, it's my Christmas too and I love it! Nanna-Moo xxx
