Hi all, Maybe there is someone out there in Genesland who can help me with an old village name, I've tried multimap and the only old maps I have with no result, the spelling may differ, but the entry I have seen is illegible, no County recorded with it, the placename is as follows: DUNFANELRY OR DUNFANELEY. Sounds Irish but may be Scottish, her husbands family came from Letterkenny, Donegal, so I suspect Ireland as the best guess. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Jim.

Hi James, perhaps someone on the Records Board of GR may be able to help if you post on there. Or the Tips Board. Good luck. Sylvx

Hi there, Many thanks to you both, sylvia ross and court jeffster for replying, I've now since found the village I was looking for, I found an Irish Directory for Donegal, and this village was on it, not as the spelling I had for it though, it was spelt DUNFANAGHY, maybe the enumerator had the spelling wrong, as the spelling I had was on her naturalisation record from the USA, but it's close to LETTERKENNY in Donegal where her husband came from to satisfy me its correct place. again thanks for taking the time to help me. Best Regards Jim.
