Roger, I don't quite understand your point. Surely the amount, of money, our ancestors left gives us some idea of their social circumstances. I agree not important for 'name collectors' but those of us who try and place our families into a social context appreciate this type of information. T.O.R. :~]

So what how much people left years ago, as it seems none of it ever comes to this generation LOL. Why well there all had big famlies so money got shared out many times.

Jeez! My ancestor gave £200 to Charity, and thats worth £15,364 today! He could have passed a bit more to his 12 X Great Grandson. :-)
