Hello Harry We were only talking about how much we missed you the other day. It's such a pity that this is a 'one off' as you make this board a better place to be, however, I fully understand if you choose not to remain with the current climate. I couldn't have put it better myself, Harry, and agree with every word. While I also agree to an extent with those who say - if you don't like what you see, ignore and move on - it saddens me to find that I am ignoring and moving on more and more. I refuse to accept that I'm just an old fuddy duddy with no sense of humour or a self-righteous individual with no understanding of 'free speech', but there's a reason why I don't read tabloids newspapers or gossip sheets, and why I find name-calling and insult-slinging offensive. The general board used to have a lot to offer; now I'm sorry to see that so many interesting people have left and can only conclude that, for me, the narrow- and small-minded are best left to their own endeavours. That's not to diminish the interesting people who still join in the boards, but they are a shrinking minority and I for one am fed up with wading through the dross to find the occasional interesting snippet. Even the 'happy' threads are often inane. :-(

You are absolutely correct, Harry and this place is so much sadder for your absence. I understand why you have withdrawn. What some of us are trying to do is bring the Boards back to some kind of 'respectability' for want of a better word, where nobody will be afraid to post but a certain set of values will reign. GR have allowed this decline to happen and I find this quite unforgiveable. You and other people of your calibre were the backbone of these Boards. You are missed. XX BC

Yes Harry you are quite right. We did have disagreements but nothing like this. People that didn't use to get on are also respectful of one another now but this is a completely different kettle of fish.
