Has anyone mentionend the Metropolitan? You have to go and see the Egyptian exibits. I remembered the room it is in (all glass windows on one side from When Harry met Sally and I think it was used in Maid in Manhatten (The posh party scene) I loved the museum though but I do think they charge. Best to check their website Was it also used in the latest version of the Thomas Crown Affair when they were walking around the museum in Bowler hats?

Has anybody mentioned Tiffanys yet? (you have to peek inside and pretend your Audrey Hepburn) Or Trump Towers if you're passing - just to see the Waterfall.

Hi Mummikins Went in April for 5 days - just not long enough to do it all but we had a pretty good go at it and the kids got the last day's skating in Central Park! Stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel, just off Broadway. It was great and I'd definitely stay there again. A little pricey but they do have deals. I'll put a list together and email it to you after the weekend. Daisy

I went for a couple of days at the end of a coach trip in May, awful weather but we loved it. We did the boat trip round Manhatten Island. It takes about two hours and you get a comentary. We also went to Starbucks in Trump tower. (The coffee is the same price as any other Starbucks. If you watch the American version of the apprentice that's where they end up. We also had a look at Tiffany's (could not afford to buy anything) and had lunch in the food court of Macey's (truly amazing. There is so much to do you need at least a week - enjoy.

Hi BC, Whenever I go on holiday I always check out the hotel I've been quoted for on the holidays uncovered website – www(.)holidaysuncovered(.)co(.)uk It has honest reviews of hundreds of hotels on there from other holiday makers. I do try to bear in mind, though, that people are more likely to moan than praise so don’t be put off by the odd negative review if there are lots of positive ones. Hope you have a lovely time. Regards Cherie

Hi BC, I've been about 7 times and I always stay at Hotel Chandler (recently changed it's name from Le Marquis Hotel). It's at East 31st and 5th, right on 5th Avenue about 2 blocks form the Empire State Building. It's a small, but luxury boutique hotel, the staff are really nice, rooms comfortable, lovely fluffy bath robes, and it's slap bang right in the middle of everything! It has a webpage, just google it. Have a wonderful time! Julie PS I always go with American Airlines too because I am quite tall and they have the largest legroom (that I've found so far anyway!).

only just been this October. Fantastic. Stayed at Novotel Hotel right on Times Square. We booked for The Producers and Phantom of the Opera on Broadway a few months before we went. If you book early enough for the shows you can choose good seats. Pack only essentials, you'll need the extra room in your case for all the goodies you buy. Had to buy extra case coming home. Marie
