As we are gathered here today to say farewell to dad let us smile at the memories only the good....was there bad As people say their fond farewells their sorrow we can share put a smile upon your face Dads memory is always there He was known in many context dad hubby gramps john brother however that we called him There really was no other So when you toast his memory Raise your glass high and tall and remember as you do it He was the greatest of them all

Hi Jacqui :):) Thank you for sharing your lovely but sad poem with us all. I love poems written from the heart. I havent written in a while now but would like to share this one with you to. We Lost A Good Friend Today We lost a good friend today The angels came, took him away. Should we be sad or happy for you Your out of your pain and misery too. She lost her best friend today The angels carried her husband away. Her tear stained face is plain to see Her grieving, her pain, her misery. You lost a good friend today God decided it was his day. Should you be angry or think it bad That god decided to take your dad. We lost a good friend today If you were here what would you say. Would you have wanted us to grieve Console our pain and make it leave. So my friend we say goodbye. Please forgive us should we cry. We lost a good friend today (Copyright 2003).. C Taylor.. In Memory Of My Good Friend Finn (John Finlayson ) It would be nice to see others write and bring back a poets thread to genes :) Colin

IF IF you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you. IF you can trust yourself when all men doubt you. But make allowance for their doubting too. IF you can wait and not be tired by waiting. Or being lied about, don't deal in lies. Or being hated, don't give way to hating. And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise. IF you can dream and not make dreams your master: If you can think and not make thoughts your aim. IF you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat these two imposters just the same: IF you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools. Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, and stoop and build them up with worn out tools. IF you can make one heap of all your winnings and risk it all on one pitch of toss, and lose, and start again at your beginnings and never breathe a word about your loss: IF you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone and so hold on when there is nothing in you except the Will which says to them 'Hold on!' IF you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, or walk with kings-nor lose the common touch. IF neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, IFall men count with you, but none too much, IF you can fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, and which is more- you'll be a Man, my son! Thanks Jacquie :):) I am never to far away :) Born With A Smile When people see us smiling They don’t see beyond the face. If only they could understand, Feelings cant be replaced. Eyes that always twinkle. Don’t mean that you feel bright Some people don’t understand That everything’s not right. When people think your cheerful It don’t mean that you’re a clown Underneath the clowns face He often wears a frown. If only all the people Could see behind our face. They would know The feelings, those feelings we embrace. (Copyright 2003) C Taylor Hi Monty :) Lovely Poem .:) I noticed the name Monty Smith. My Wife's Grandfather was a Montgomery :) Hi Beryl :):) I love the words of of Rudyard Kipling Hi Dee :):) I certainly remember the old Poets Pot, my first message I think was in the poets pot. I am still in touch with Ray Casey the originator. The pot was a very popular thread at that time to, there was hardly a day that went by when something was not added :) Colin :):)

A window of life A mistake on creation A door into darkness A joke on the nation Wild of the sunlight The calm of the storm SDlip into nothing A wholeness is born Joy is for everyone like the waves crest look for a second time It's just laid to rest Sit on the rocking horse turn front to back meet the moon halfway at the end of the track forward into yesterday see the light of the night as long as theres an if in life everythings alright Listen to the quietness thats what they'll say the air whispers softly a sigh not a fray Theres a lesson to learn just don't look too hard He dealt out the whole pack Now play the last card Jacqui
