Any tips for cleaning a gold chain please?

I use my husbands Whiskey - brilliant stuff ....... for cleaning jewellry that is ! I couldn't drink it .....Yak ! |

Not sure how it would workon gold but pennies diped in hand cream then wraped in tissue/cotten wool and in a bag over night come up like new - just rinse and pat dry. |

I always wash my sons chains in washing-up liquid,put chain in hand squirt a little liquid in and then rub chain on palm for a min or 2 then rinse with plenty of warm water.dont lose the chain down the plughole,--put plug in lol. hope it helps his comes up a treat. wendy |

Can I just say, you only need to leave your jewellery in for a few seconds and then clean off in water. If an item is particularly dirty you can dip it again.It usually explains all this on the pot and also what items ( usually types of stones ) not to dip. Mel |

Try Bacardi, or any clear spirit. It works for silver, and a soft cloth to buff it with after. |

I have a gold chain which I always wear around my neck, but have noticed that it is looking decidedly grubby:-( What would be the best thing to clean it with please as my brand of shower gel obviously aint doing it..LOL...Bacardi X |
