Hi, I purchased a Massive Holy Bible a couple of years ago, and it has some family detail in it. I am trying to get my head around my own family history let alone this one - sooooo if anyone wants a hobby of finding it's owners here's the details. The bible is 6 inches thick and 15 x 11. I inherited a lovely old bible a few years ago that had names in, managed to contact a decendent on GR of the recorded family, I've offered to send him photo's of the pages with names on as it give names and dates as well as the location of the parent's. Have also added a tree for the family to my Ancestry account so can keep an eye on other's looking for the family. Goodluck sorting out the tree! |

when people have spoken about family bibles befor I have not taken a lot of notice. Didnt think ours had one. However I had a very pleasant surprise in August when we visited my mums cousin. He brought out a family bible belonging to the Lawcock family . Andrew Lawcock being the owner born in 1786. It gave a few details but I had already gathered the info through scrolling through records etc. If only I had known. It gave me great pleasure just to hold it and get a feel of it..LOL |

I did a name search on here - there's a George b. 1839 in someone's tree (Jacqueline)! The Bible relating to my mother's family was destroyed in a house fire in 1973 - all that info! |
