Does your town have a twin town in another country?... Is it in name only or do they join in their partner town's events?

Hi Gwyneth Maldon, Essex is twinned with Cuijk in Holland. There are many events and exchange visits with this town, all good fun. Tina x

King's Lynn is twinned with Emmerich En Rhein in Germany. They used to do cultural exchanges, but haven't really done so in the past few years. My Mum went on one of them once.

For many years representatives from our town's twin towns have come to pay their respects at our service of Remembrance. It is good to see them here at the memorial and then carrying their standards in the march past, later. Being on the south coast means we are just a short trip away via the Channel Tunnel. They often come across for special events and one town has an excellent band, which play at carnival time and are very popular. Gwyn

Hello Gwyn, In Cambridge we are twinned with Heidelberg, in S. Germany. It is another University Town, with many research buildings, a teaching hospital and a science park. Am sure there will be thousands of students tearing round daily on bikes too! :)) Chris :) (info. found on google, cos' I hadn't a clue!)

Hi Gwyn and Lynn, I went to school in Nuneaton and when I was 15 we did an exchange visit with pupils from schools in Roanne. We had loads of fun - I think they still do it. Nueaton is also twinned with Guadalajara in Spain and Cottbus in Germany. I think the town councillors visit each other regularly and there are 'events' in the summer. Gwynne

Morning Gwyneth Hope you well. Yes my town is twinned with a small town in France called Villemomble or something like that.lol. Has been for years. At first local kids came here and over there, but think it fizzled out, still says on the town plaque we twinned, but nothing happens. catherine xx
