Hi i am trying to find a classical track to the programme or film associated with Vietnam. I have looked at Good Morning Vietnam soundtrack but they are all modern songs on the cd.Any names of any Vietnam films would be a great help!!.My mum wants this soundtrack for xmas but all she knows is the music was played when they were fighting and its associated to either a film or a BBC series about the Vietnam war.Sorry its not much to go on but hopefully someone might be able to point me in the right direction. thank you x

Hi Jayne, I'd guess it would be Barbers Adagio for strings, he was a very popular American classical composer, Caz xxxxxxx

I'm with Caz, its from 'The Killing Fields' Also used in the 'Elephant Man' Samuel Barber...Adagio for strings. Its a beautiful and moving piece.

Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' was used in the film 'Apocalypse Now' - it was in a fighting scene (in helicopters) - very dramatic piece of music and completely different from Barber!
