I agree with Jess - a good site for starters. Use the others when you get more used to it. Or try www(*) familysearch(*)co(*) uk. xx |

At the moment I have just been using genes reunited site....I am looking for relatives or Robert Akenhead born 1897 and married Agnes Docherty 1933, trying to locate parents of each, I have been given some names Patrick Docherty and Catherine Malia parents of Agnes Docherty and Thomas Akenhead and Margaret Agnew parents of Robert Akenhead. I have looked in the 1901 cenus and the info I have got from there for Robert akenhead born 1897 was that the parents were Robert Akenhead and Catherine Akenhead and another son Thomas, so trying to see which sets of parents are correct... Donna at a guess I'd say you've been using the Genes site, put it down to experience they don't offer any more than the others. As Jess has said you'd be better off with Ancestry, and if you need help put some details down or if not too keen to do that you can pm AT |

I am new to tracing and looking through records..I have bought credits and been trying to load a number of Births, Deaths and Marriage records. First couple came up no problem, but all others since then not loading but yet my credits are going down everytime I try to reload them....so in total I have lost 14 credits now.....does anyone know why this happens or how long you have to wait for these pages to load, I have been waiting over 5/10 mins on some occassions. Any help would be gratefully appreciated Donna |
