Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 11 Nov 2006 08:54

Aged 87, he has passed away. Won an Oscar for City Slickers and was the baddy in Shane. Was in countless other films. Born Vladimir Palahnulk in Pennsylvania, twice married father of three. Was a professional boxer and decorated WW2 airman. His menacing appearance was partly due to injuries sustained when he bailed out of a burning bomber. Aileen xx

Hi Jean, hope you are well. I loved him too, my ultimate baddy. Always stuck in my mind that his voice had that breathless sort of sound. Might have been caused by the injuries he sustained bailing out that bomber which affected his breathing. About a couple of years ago I was watching TCM on cable and they had a half hour slot and it was of his life. Very interesting. Aileen xx
