Going out with my Dad tomorrow on a Legion 'crawl'. My Dad plays the pipes and his band are hitting the Legions in the Vancouver area. If I meet a veteran, I will thank him for what he did. My Mum lost her Father when she was 17 months old in WW2. His ship, the HMS Courageous was the first ship to go down (sunk by U29). September 1939. He was 27 years old. Thank you Tommy Goodyear (my Grandad )for giving your life so I could live in a free society. xxxxxx Deb

Awwwwww Deb, That sounds lovely. We had the day off school today but I hope and pray that most of the kids knew WHY.

Today we held our Remembrance Day Ceremony. It was suggested that the kids 'Dress for Respect' I was beaming when I saw the boys turned out in suits, shirt and tie. Or dress pants with shirts. The girls dressed in dress pants and respectable tops. Here we do not have school uniforms, so the choice was left up to the kids. They did us proud. One of the students piped the school population down to the gym. All 1100 assembled in silence. RESPECT. You could hear a pin drop in the gym during the ceremony. RESPECT. There is a lot of negativity given to the teenagers of today, but I have to say - have a closer look at the children that we are raising. They are a credit. Deb
