Just got my laptop back after being in the PC hopital. Now back to factory settings (horror). and having to rebuild (upps GR + others 1st on). This was due to a VIRUS. don't know where from. E-mail has virus blocker don't allow pop ups. but some how I was hacked into. I am a member of 4 genealogy sites and 1 game download site. This virus arrived last week as spyware. Please all check your pc protection, my Norton let it thro' as its 2005 my adware let it thro' but did alert me I was being hacked. Jacqui |

I have a laptop only used for genealogy sites and have never (touchwood) got any viruses but the family pc with all the antivirus software (we have norton too) on it gets them all the time. They always come from the gaming sites my Oh and kids use. We get alerted to the viruses but have a job getting rid of them. Jackie |

What was the virus / adaware called? It might help others if we knew what to look out for. I would also be interested to hear how you were able to establish you were hacked into? |
