I wonder when the anger will spill out over from the internet into the streets and people will start demonstrating about these free-loaders? That's what this country needs a good demonstration. Lin

what annoys me about people seeking asylum is they never go back when their country is free from war...countries like croatia, there are still people here..i also heard they are paying people £1300 to leave the country only for them to find their way back in and being payed more money to leave...this country should get a grip!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)))):

Carol,I have to say I agree with you:-)) By far they are the worst offenders.

Little Lost Report 9 Nov 2006 12:05

yes Carol but the money spent on foreigners could then be spent on helping sort out the problems of our own like the alcoholics and drug addicts etc.

Very good point Carol.... I know of people who claim disability, who have no ailment... People who work but dont declair it on their tax credits so they can get more money.. Etc.. and all of those that i know are white british... This isnt a 'them and us' situation in respect of asylum seekers, it's 'them and us' in respect of us honest, everyday, hardworking families, And those who choose to claim money they are not entitled to..Wether they be Black, white, orange (Bad tan, lol) or yellow...... It is right across the board.... I do agree though, that if people are in this country illegally, they should be sent home, criminal record or not.... LOU XXXXXXXXXXXXX

although I broadly agree with you about the numbers debate - too high so needs strict controls, I also think you make it sound very simplistic. Its a typical 'blame them for everything' type of argument you portray. By far, most of the so called freeloaders in this country are in the indigenous pupulation...I mean look around you...10,000 alcoholics and 8,000 drug addicts claiming disability allowance, thousands of teenagers with babies

It's the poor kids i feel sorry for!! My daughter had to say goodbye to her very best friend this year. She and Zaid have been best friends all throughout nursery and were inseperable... Zaid, along with his brother left in August to return to Jordan with his parents.. Zaid was 4 and his brother 8..They were both born in this country.. Their parents were born in Jordan and they all had to leave... They were a good family... And are very much missed...... Zaid's cousin, Seba and her sisters all left in Sept and returned to Saudi Arabia...Seba, along with her sisters, were all born in this country...Her parents were not..... As i said, a wonderful, loving, friendly family who i very much miss...... While i dont agree with letting in every Tom, Dick and Harry and paying them ever increasing money, i do feel that some people should be allowed to stay here, and i for one would have had no objection to paying a little extra cash to keep these lovely families in safety and comfort......! The long and the short of it is the Government has been too soft for too long. We are in a mess!! The 'doors' should have been closed a long time ago. They are a drain on our already struggling resources. Why do they all want to come here, because we are seen as a soft touch!!!! We need to toughen up and only provide a safe haven for the genuine asylum seekers!

Trish - I agree, the balloon has to go up soon, so many people are increasing fed up with everything that is happening just now.

Trish Report 9 Nov 2006 11:17

I really think there's going to be big trouble soon with 'us' versus 'them' - and by trouble I mean a lot more fighting on the streets, arson etc - sorry, but that's the way I see things going. All because the Government is too soft with them.

Unfortunately they were born here. But it's as they say 'beware the enemy within'

just like to bring in Catherines thread about what was on the news last night. Some men were sentenced yesterday because of a racial attack on a young scots boy. Stabbed him then set him alight. Surely instead of wasting our money on keeping them in jail , dont know if they were born here but I fell they should be deported. No place in this country for the likes of them.

While I sympathise with genuine asylum seekers,I must say I find its getting out of hand. the system stinks to be honest,we are a small Island we can only do so much. I find it odd that if they are failed asylum seekers why are they still here, their obviously under no threat in their own countries, this would have been the main reason for their stay. it does make you wonder who makes the rules.

It used to happen here to Peter, when my dad worked for Securicor at Gatwick Airport, if someone arrived that shouldn't have been here they were held in a safe room and returned to whence they came at next available flight, usually within 12/24 hours. where have those days gone! Gillie.

PEOPLE with learning disabilities working at a Coventry-based recycling charity are furious over a decision to strip them of their £3-a-day earnings. so does this mean this money will fund this family ahhhhhh how great is that. well i suppose my daughter has a great life to look forward to in this city ! Here you go another one to get your teeth into TWO judges are locked in heated discussions about what to do about a Coventry Muslim lawyer who refused to take off her veil in court. Sir Henry Hodge, president of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunals, and judge George Glossop are thrashing out the details of what can be ruled when the case comes back to court on Monday. Shabnam Mughal, aged 27, declined to remove her veil, citing religious grounds, when asked to by Mr Glossop in a case she was acting in on Monday.

Sorry, return on the next available plane. This is what happens in Holland, and guess what - they don't have any problems with asylum seekers. In fact very few even bother to try.
