Many thanks to whoever it was who told us about the 3 free days offer on Ancestry recently. I managed to get in just before the offer expired and in fact I think I ended up having a bit more time than I expected before time was up earlier today. I couldn't spend all day using it but I did my best and found several really useful things. I'd lost touch with my godfather a few years ago and my Christmas cards to him were returned as address unknown. I'd tried using telephone directories but now thanks to Ancestry I know he died in 1998. I found a US WW1 draft registration card for a relative who had gone off to America and not much more was known about him. I also collected a lot of census information and found birthplaces for a number of people. So that was very handy. Lots of new leads now to follow up. Thanks again Sue

Our main library has free access to ancestry. I had been travelling to the local LDS centre a few times as they recently had it put in. Found out that the library had it put in before they did so I could have been going to the library instead. Also found a leaflet that says the library has some CD roms with records on so next time I go there i may use them. It is worth asking what your local library has cos they are all different. The one in the next town has free access to on line digital papers but not ancestry.
