Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 8 Nov 2006 22:52

well My VERY best friend from Grammar school was my best & closest pal. we lost touch over 50 years ago after I left school. About 3 years ago she contacted me after seeing my message on friends reunited and we spoke a lot on the phone and we eventually visited her & her hubby in Wiltshire. We live in Kent now. It was like the years between had been a blink ,and what was nice that her hubby & mine could join in our reminiscences cos we all knew the home area. I can still tell her my private things ,and she me, we truly are best mates We still speak frequently ,and we stay with her & her hubby every year for a week We are all around the seventy mark now

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 8 Nov 2006 23:19

Evening Baz and all, My friend Anne, a fellow Scot, have known each other for 34yrs since she, like myself came to England and she married a friend of my hubby's. We have never had a cross word in all that time and been there for each other through thick and thin. We see each other about once a month. Usually she hops on a train from London and comes to me in Surrey and eats me out of house and home! I have three other friends who I have known between 20/34yrs who are dear friends but I could never truly confide in them as I do Anne. Aileen xxx
