I emailed them and asked why that had emailed me today saying my next years subs would be £9.95 when I have continous membership which should be £7.50. They answered within an hour with this email.....but it doesn't actually answer my question...........does it??????? Thanks for your email. The standard cost of renewal is £9.95 for one year's membership. If you opted for our auto-renewal the fee would be automatically taken from your card. We will email you 28 days before the renewal takes place so that you are free to opt out of it if you wish. If, for some reason, the auto-renewal fails then you will have to manually renew your upgrade. We do feel that £9.95 does offer extremely good value for money with new facilities being continually added to the site, including our brand new tree viewer and builder. I hope this clarifies the situation. Best regards, Lisa The Genes Support Team

I've just sent them this email................ Hi Lisa, Thanks for answering my email so quickly. Unfortunately it does actually answer my question. I wanted to know if the renewal is £7.50 for a continous subscription why am I being charged £9.95? Regards Linda

Hi Keith, Hope that happens to me. It's not the money but the principle. Linda

I have also sent another e-mail pointing out, that if i went into a shop and something was on the shelf for £7.50 i would not expect to pay £9.95 at the checkout. Lets see what their answer to that is, but i'm not holding my breath. Ann

Hi John, So on 22nd October you paid £9.95 and on 3rd November Keith paid £7.50. What on earth is going on? Linda

I've just had my reminder from them, and with this message in mind I emailed, and got the same reply as is here, There is no mention of 7.50 anywhere, but I've just logged on in another name, that isn't a paid for one and checked how much it will be to join, and it's 9.95. So it seems there is no incentive to remain a member. Seems a bit remiss to me, surely it's good practice to offer a carrot to maintain loyalty. Suex

I know it's a nuisance, but it is a case of wait and see. I have been a member for two years, and they charged me £9.95 for the third year. On querying the price, I have now received a refund in the form of a cheque for £2.45. They will right it if they are wrong. Lynda x
