I think the problem is that some people just add their trees but dont actually join GR as a member. I have sent loads of messages to some that I can guarantee are related but get no response. So I do agree withyou about being courteous but it may be the same thing that is happening to you. I am in contact with a 4th cousin but she only has access if she goes to the library so it can be weeks before she responds.

I've used Genes for nearly a year now and have been very pleased with my success rates but, a gentle reminder to other members. If another member sends you a message, even if it isn't a match with your tree, be courteous enough to reply. Don't leave them hanging!
