DON'T give up the teaching course! There is a very good chance you'll regret it in later life. I'll cite the case of eldest daughter. Very lucky girl, 3 A levels and got to Cambridge. Got Degree, came back to us and got a job in Hammicks! Hated herself. Met a bloke 8 years ago, did PGCE and got a job teaching English at a Grammer school. 6 years later seemed Aok, started a family, bloke went off rails and started gambling, brought £36,000 worth of debts home, suffers from 'poor low self esteem', little flower! Now daughter is the keystone of the family, her self esteem at an all time high, second in department, able to cope with partners failings, and potential failure of relationship. All 'cos she got her qualifications and the job she has, AND the credit she gets from her pupils and colleagues! |

Hi Caz,its a difficult one . but If you really need the money I would be tempted to go for the extra hours. You can always go back to your course later when things get easier for you. whatever you decide I wish you well. Roxanne xx |

I am working 12 hours a week at our local college at £ 7.89 an hour. I could get at least another 20 hours and a couple of evenings when G is back, But I'm doing my teaching course which takes up 14 hours a week, I'm tempted to go full time with the LSA but as we need the money think I'll regret giving up the teaching, Any advice? caz xxxxx |
