OK guys I need your advice. We have a 12 week old puppy who bites. I know that all puppies do this but sometimes she just wont stop. Last night for example, despite doing all the things in the training books, ( holding her mouth and saying no bite really loud, or when she got really bad. putting her outside) the minute she came back in or was released she did it again. I love her to bits but i won't let any of my mates with kids visit at the moment as i am afraid she will nip them, and those puppy teeth are like bloody needles! All suggestions gratefully received! UPDATE OK i have tried everything you have suggested and she has got worse. Now she bites all the time when she is playing, legs, hands, feet, clothes...what on earth do i do? |

Hiya Melanie, Put some coins in a tin can, and every time he bites, shake the can vigorously. The shock may just stop him. |

she had got lots of chews! The worst is that she nips toes and the backs of your legs. Would love to know how to stop her! |

make a loud noise every time she does it, then eventually she will associate biting with a loud noise and should stop.......... good luck, lol |

ok will give the tin a try! She is a bit of a Heinz 57 varieties, but has a bit of staffy and a bit of huntaway we think. She is already quite big, so need to stop her doing this as soon as we can |

A sin bin maybe, but you must stick to it. If she bites, stick her in the sin bin, of your choice, and do it every time. If it's 100 times a day, then stick to it |

We are using a small plastic bottle with 1 & 5 pence coins in and it does work. One frim shake and a 'No' each time, our dogs learnt by this method very quickly. Plenty of things to chew on is also a must. If got what looks like a large ring from wilkinsons its solid and she/they loves it and it last for ages a bargin at 99p Here's a great site to pick up tips it's a labrador forum but lits of dog/puppy info. http://www*labradorforums*co*uk/index.php Sharon |
