Hi LLCousin - yes, it is a great nation - I just love it here and whilst I do sometimes hanker for 'home' it is generally when I am watching programmes such as Escape to the Country etc! Then everything looks just like it was in the 50's and 60s when it was all cosy, safe and the sun shone every day! Where was your Mum born? My grandaughter was born here and my two sons are both citizens but I am still a Permanent Resident with my British(EU) passport.....once a Londoner always a Londoner I guess....I am having a great time searching out the family tree - goodness, I think I have already found a skeleton! LOL - this should be fun....

Good morning Maureen I recently found unknown relatives in New Zealand and I am catching up on lost time with them. My mum was born in New Zealand 1927. I am keeping my fingers crossed that one of my new found aunties will be coming to England next year. Trouble is she has to rely on snail mail so hope she gives me plenty of notice. I must say over the last 3 years I have had tremendous help from total strangers in New Zealand. Must be a great nation

Anne 0191 - there are 56 Humm entries in our phone books - mostly in Christchurch! If you want me to check anything out I would be happy to...I think we may haveto go to the Trying to Find board??

Thanks for the welcome......you sound a nice bunch of people. Still, I reckon that anybody who is interested in 'family' must be OK.....I will check out the Humm family and see if I can find any in the country. Much easier here really as there are only four million of us - still got about 48 million sheep tho! Used to be 60 million - mmmm.....wonder what happened to those..Yumm!
