Hi. I have copies of a couple of 17th century wills in which yeoman farmers from Wiltshire have left Reek Stavells, sulls and cowles as items of 'goodes & chattelles'. The first two were amoungst ploughs, harrows etc. the latter with barrels in the 'drink house'. (I believe that Reek is dialect for Rick, as in hay, and sulls could also be called sulloes) Can anybody PLEASE tell me what they were? Many thanks in advance. Andy |
