In 1950/1960 my favourite toy was I think called Merlin (not sure if that was right name) It was a board with a man in the middle with a pointed stick you could ask him a question and he would turn around and stop pointing to the correct answer. What was your favourite toy as a child. |

Yes I do, and the name WAS Merlin. I think it was still made in the 70's. I'm sure one of my two boys had one. All done with magnets, I think. Kath. x |

Merlin must have been an updated version of a toy that my friend had in 50s. It was called Magic Robot. ......Was this the same? The description sounds right. Gwyn |

Gwyneth, I think you are right. Magic Robot was what I would have had. I think Merlin must have been the updated version my son had in the 70's. Kath. x |

Carol, I had this toy one Christmas too.....it had a magnet on the bottom, and I was fascinated with it, I did think about it some time ago, but could not remember its name...... I think my favourite toys when small were the farmyard I had for my Christmas present....especially the milkmaid with a yoke and pails.....the cows, sheep and pigs and the sheepdog.......spookily I have aspirations to becoming a peasant, and I had a load of ag labs for ancestors, and I like being round farms and animals....... The other one was a small globe, but I didn't have it for long because our local church asked for each child to give one of their special presents for a poor child, so I had the choice between my beloved Spivvy (hand-made teddy) or my world.......the globe went.....I hope whoever got it appreciated it......later I was always top at geography..... My best present now is to see everyone's face when they receive their presents...... |
