That was my favourite hymn when I went to Sunday School. It made me feel sad, but I liked the sentiments. I guess it was just a forerunner of my interest in resting places of my ancestors - lol. Frances |

i used to like getting coloured stamps from our sunday school teacher, they had a religious picture on them and we would stick them in a special book, thanks for the nudgeTW. cant remember the words to the hymn,as the brain is getting more and more elderly, why is it i feel 24 inside but the mirror tells me different. ah well, this site keeps us young and happy. best wishes wendy |

There is a green hill far away, Outside a city wall, Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all. O dearly, dearly, has He loved, And we must love Him too, And trust in His redeeming blood, And try His works to do. We may not know, we cannot tell, What pains He had to bear, But we believe it was for us, He hung and suffered there. He died that we might be forgiven, He died to make us good, That we might go at last to Heaven, Saved by His precious blood. There was no other good enough, To pay the price of sin, He only could unlock the gate Of Heaven and let us in O Dearly, dearly has he loved And we must love Him too And trust in His redeeming blood And try His works to do. |
