Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 2 Nov 2006 13:37

Had to go to the village and met my next door elderly neighbour. Had a nice chat and walked there together. Coming towards us were an elderly couple. Both well under 5ft in height and she is bent almost double pushing a tweed shopping trolley. See them quite often. Neighbour started laughing and only told me they are shop lifters. She never speaks ill of anyone and I thought she was winding me up. Well I was in hysterics She was really serious. They look really respectable. Must be in their 80s. She went off to get on the bus to the next town and I followed them into the local supermarket. God she was right, they were pilfering. I was so shocked I just paid for my purchases and left. I couldn’t bring myself to say anything. I know it was wrong but I didn’t have the heart to turn them in. Know it is out of context but when the supermarket has a no dogs policy and you see someone with a miniature Yorkie in their shopping bag and the staff ignore it then they deserve all they get. Wait until I tell my neighbour! Aileen xx

Hi Roxanne, Stop laughing. Why do these things happen to me!!! Not being mean and take on board what Lisa has said about people resorting to stealing to feed themselves. National disgrace but found out that this little couple aren't in that financially deprived bracket. Spoke to another neighbour and he said they think they are Bonnie & Clyde! Oh that has set me off again. Scared to put a foot over the door now. What else will I encounter? Aileen xxx

Little Lost

Little Lost Report 2 Nov 2006 14:10

yep the old uns are sometimes the worse. An old lady used to come in nearly everyday sice I have been working there which is over 3 years now. Always very friendly towards the staff. Claims that her family has nothing to do with her. To busy with their own lives. She always brings a shopping trolley. Well a couple of Sundays ago she was caught on camera lifting the top of her trolley and dropping things in then covering them with carrier bags. No wonder our stock takes are always down. She has now been told that she has to leave her trolley at the door. Saw her in town and she says she has her shopping delivered from Tesco now LOL
