That is ludicrious. Phone again and get someone in authority who knows what they are talking about. If you are on dual fuel with the same company they can transfer money from one utility to the other. If they still refuse, ask for the money back on the one you are in credit with and pay off the deficit on the other. Then find a cheaper utility company, there are others out there. We had over £300 credit on our gas and electricity so asked for the money back. I'm not feathering their nests. Now just found out that my phone bill is over £100 in credit. I'm having that back too. I'm with EDF and they decided they would double my DD 'to take into account the expected price rise next summer' I told them where to go, and they didn't put it up. I mean - bloody cheek, they were being paid to take it from the suppliers a few weeks ago!! |

We're with npower. A couple of weeks ago they sent us a statement which showed we were in credit ('cos we hadn't used much over the summer period). Further down the page they informed us that they would be increasing our direct debit by £6 a month ! When I queried this they said it was so we wouldn't get into a debit situation......Seems you can't win either way! |

Lisa, How about sending them a 'Refund Demand 'with an interest of 2% above Base Rate, plus a penalty for late repayment. Could be interesting what their reply would be. Hal. |

Thanks for all your replys..just a little note to the reply about NTL be warned when we left and gave them 30 days notice as the contract said they still took a months money after the contract had ended .hubby phoned and they said it was policywhich it wasn't and they said they would refund the money ...it took two months to get our money back ..least to say we are with sky now.much betterxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx((((: |

I quit British Gas years ago am I am quids into pocket, only py cash, and every time I get an estimated bill i phone them the proper readings, so only pay for what I use. Yes by paying cash i might pay more, but I get the interest on my money not them. |
