Buy clothes that you like or that you know your partner likes you to wear?

I bought a coat a couple of days ago that myself and all my female friends think is lovely but every time I put it on OH laughs and says it's a 'granny' coat LOL !!! I am wearing regardless but there was a point when he first saw it that I was tempted to take it back then I thought, NO I dress for myself not you. However, I am not sure I would've felt like that a few years ago. Is it just me??? Or would you have taken it back to the shop if you OH REALLY didn't like it??? xx

I buy clothes i like without a doubt. If i wore stuff he liked i really would be a strump lol

I buy to please myself as I'm the one who has to wear it. I like to feel comfortable. Getting OH to comment on anything I wear is like extracting teeth! Get some brilliant buys in our local Cancer Research shop. Typical, buy something there and I get compliments. Buy something new and no one bats an eyelid! Have a couple of friends who have never heard the saying 'mutton dressed as lamb'. They are older than me, but if they are happy with what they wear, why should I care. I've even got FIL's tweed hat which I wear in the winter. Keeps my head warm. Think I look quite trendy with the jeans, boots and Barber jacket. Also reminds me of him. Must get it out and dust it down now the weather's turning colder. Aileen xxx

Ok now I am really worried. My Mum has just seen the coat and she thinks it's 'smashing' aaaaaaaaaah I think OH may have been right after all !!! LOL xx

I tell my OH, if he won't stop wearing that tatty old leather biker jacket thats two sizes too small for him now, I'll wear what I want. I have to add that I can say that safe in the knowledge that he will not part with that jacket. Its a link to his mis-spent youth I think lol

I tend to buy and wear what ever I feel comfortable in. I don't have an OH to ask :-( so I ask my children----and they'll say anything if they think it'll keep me quiet!!! lol C x
