If a couple wanted/needed to marry in a hurry in the 1940's, would marrying by Certificate at a Register Office be the quickest means. rather than by Licence or Banns ? Alan Just rang the Register Office who confirmed that Certificate & Licence are one of the same and that only 2 days notice was required. Alan |

The reason for asking, is that I believe the couple had to marry quickly due to the bride being pregnant. But as there is no record of a birth it would appear that she had a miscarriage or the baby was still born. Alan |
