My son has been saying for a long time that there is strange happenings in his flat.Doors closing television being switched on.All the usual.His little girl is two and a half and often wakes up in the night saying'get off me' Today she told her mum that the lady is by the front door and her name is Dot.D-I-L is frightened.Any suggestions as what they can do. I would be tempted to go to the local Spiritualist Church Annie and ask their advise . If it has happened more than once. I remember when my lad was about that age he woke one night crying when I went in he said the old man said don't cry your mummy is coming ( too young to have made a story up like that) I told him it used to be the old mans room and he was looking after him had no bother after though we moved a couple of year later. The house always felt really homely though a lovely atmosphire. Hope you get it sorted Germaine x

I would be inclined to find out the history of the house, but that doesn't help your granddaughter does it? Perhaps you could contact the local Spiritualist Church to recommend a medium to investigate, if they do that sort of thing too. I'm itching to know who D*t is now..... years ago my cousin suddenly started telling one of her friends hat Uncle Fred would come and punish him if he messed up my cousin's room. My cousin has never had an Uncle Fred as far back as anyone can remember but she insisted that he was there. Then one day my Aunt and Uncle were sorting out the deeds to the house they realised that the very first owner of their house was a man called Fredrick so we came to the conclusion that that my cousin was seeing this man. My cousin is now 12 and still mentions Uncle Fred from time to time but not very often. I wonder if you address Dot by name and ask her nicely to keep her distance as her being close by is upsetting DiL and that she is causing the little one destress by being so close at night weather she would back off a bit - I have asked my greatgrandmother to leave me alone for a while before and she went away but always came back to me as she was watching over me.

a medium would recommend talking to th espirit, if thats what they feel it is, saying to her, please go as the child is very scared, appealing to it to go forward into light, light a candle and leave a yellow flower also i think is a recomended thing, these are things ive read and heard about anyway, other wise visit local spiritualist church ask advice

ive mentioned this before but in case you havent heard it , my daughter had friend called humphrey when she was little, the house he arrived in always felt like id been there before, it was wierd, he never scared her, but then she has always been strong minded and humphrey was a friend, he just got blame for writing on walls she often laughs at the memories of humphrey and would love to know who he was
