I totally agree. I am fed up with having to buy my food in the quantities someone else has decided. I DO NOT WANT 3 pork chops, 2 are sufficient for us. And why oh why do they have to package things in unopenable plastic? The only thing I ever use my kitchen scissors for is to open the blasted packaging.

The Manufacturers would come out of this a lot better if they were seen to be trying to reduce and i am sure it would be a good selling point for them as we allare trying in diff ways to save the Planet! June.

Sounds like a good idea. I often get annoyed at the layers of packaging on goods. I know they have to be hygenically packed, due to high food standards these days, but do they really have to have more than one layer of packaging? And why oh why do they have to sell pre-packed veg? ie carrots, right next to the loose ones? Just leave em loose and let us take what we need. Pre-packed veg tend to sweat in those packets and I usually end up throwing half of them away as they have rotted. Taking them out of the packet doesn't work, they've already been sweated and dry up and shrivel overnight!

PMSL :-)))))))))))) Maybe but then again it's the manufacturers of the products which package the goods so unless it's a supermarket own brand perhaps sending it all back to the manufacturer would be better. I'd suggest in small parcels that you can stick in postboxes without postage so the manufacturer would have to pay for postage too.

I saw an article in my N/Paper today where a customer had taken off the packaging off goods he had bought and left them at the super market do you think if we all did this it would have an effect at all? June
