dear son just a few lines to let you know that i am still alive i am writing this slowly because i know that you carnt read fast you wont know the house when you come home weve moved about your fatherhe has got a loverly job he has got 500 men under him he cuts grass at the cemetry your sister mary had a baby girl this morning i havent found out yet if it is a boy or a girl .so i dont know if your an aunty or an uncle i went to the doctors on thursday and your father came with me the doctor put a small tube in my mouth and told me not to talk for ten minutes your father offerd to buy it from him your uncle patrick drowned last week in a vat of irish whiskey at the dublin brewery some of his workmates tried to save him but he fought them off bravely they cremated him and it took 3 days to put the fire out it only rained twice this week once for three days and then for four days we had a letter from the undertaker he said if the last payment on your grandmothers plot wasnt paid in 7 days up she comes your loving mother ps i was going to send you 5pounds but i have already sealed the envelope your loving mother did it make you smile hope so want some more ?? |

Dr Paul was called in front of the Medical Board for gross mis- conduct. They said to him ' You are accused of having sex with your patients.' Dr Paul replied 'I won't be the first and won't be the last.' Medical Board replied ' Dr Paul, you are a vet!' If this offends I will remove it tomorrow. Liz |

a dads letter excuse the writing but i had an accident i burnt my fingers in boiling water all my own fault i should have felt the water before i put my fingers in it we had a row with the electric company it ended in a draw we got no light and they got no money i met the landlord at the dogs the other evening he asked me about last weeks rent i told him not to worry about last weeks rent and start praying for this weeks it was running in the third race we bought one of those new fangled things they call bathrooms you hear of them in some houses on one side of the room is a long thing like what we use to feed the pigs in before i left home we jump into that and wash all over just near to that is a small one they call a sink over in the corner is the nicest contraption of all you put one foot in and wash it clean then pull the chain and get fresh water for the other foot two covers came with it but we have no use for them in the bathroom so i am using one as a breadboard and the other has a hole in it so we framed grandads picture in it they also sent a big rol of writing paper with it this is what i am using now your loving son |
