Oo, I just remembered something else I have done. I found my Great Aunts Hubbies Social Security no. that means I'm one step closer to finding out who his son is, who apparently is still in prison. LOL

Also have a newspaper report from 1815 of one of his ancestors falling down into a cave in an inebriated state and meeting an untimely death !

Someone on GR had the same rellie as me, and they had found all this stuff out, and I read all the notes.

Caz - lots of blood sweat and tears ! It helped that the early ancestors were landowners so much was documented.2 of his more recent ancestors were transported for forging £5 notes - so there is an Australian branch now !

A friend asked me to find out what his great grandfather did for a living - I looked and was intrigued with the family. After loads of e mails, applications for documents, historical research , tearing out of hair, bottles of wine, talks with historians I have traced his line back to 1350!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a file the size of an African country to give to him. I think I deserve a pint off him don't you???
