Sounds like you had a good time regardless of the weather. We used to stay with my aunty in Whitley Bay not far from Tynemouth and it's a place I have always loved. We take our son there, at different times of the year and many a time I have sat in the freezing cold digging holes in the sand for him while he is all muffled up. I used to love rock pooling there too when I was small. Lorrainex |

Lorraine we stayed at the Caravan Park at Whitley Bay so hubby walked down by the lighthouse every morning after he had made me a cuppa. Got some lovely pictures of the sunrise over the sea. |

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your trip Dawn. I live in Whitley Bay, my sister's house faces St.Mary's Lighthouse. I was brought up in Tynemouth and it was a lovely place to grow up. Having sad time at present, otherwise I could have come to see you very easily at the caravan park.Next time you come up you must go up the coast to Bambrough and Holy Island. Hope you're feeling better. Mau xx Was it Raspberry Bazaar you visited? love that shop! |

Hi Dawn, it's lovely by St Mary's lighthouse. I have so many happy areas of being there when I was younger. My aunty had a guest house in Park Parade so most of our time was spent on the beach or in the Spanish City - which has gone now. Glad you had a lovely time! Lorrainexx |

Maureen yes it was Raspberry Bazarr lovely little shop could of spent a fortune, didn't realise you were up that way. PP Jenny is lovely although she spoilt tiddler which was naughty of her. I could of easily bought her dog back with me but think mine would of complained about it lol |
