Don't worry Dotty, some doctor's practices don't give results over the phone. You may need to make an appontment for your GP to tell you - specially if you are anaemic. I had serious anaemia about 5 years ago, course of iron tablets and lots of green vegetables, water and fruit did the trick. |

No, don't worry. If it's anaemia, your GP will want to see you and tell you what (if anything) is causing it and tell you how to get your iron levels up. |

Hi Worked for a GP and when people phoned for results as the GP's secretary could give them over the phone unless there was a note on the file to say GP needed to see the person because of some minor abnormality. Don't beat yourself over the head. Phone and ask for a telephone appointment for him/her to call you. I'm sure everything will be okay. Aileen xx |

Definitely - ring your GP and talk to him - then you won't be worrying all over the weekend. Let us know how it goes... |

Dotty, Get on the phone now. They will put you down for a phone call after surgery and if your own doctor isn't there then there is usually another covering for his/her patients who can ring you back. Be insistent and don't take any waffle from the receptionists. Better to get an idea of why he needs to see you. Don't beat yourself up for the next four days. That won't do you any good. Right hop to it.... we are all watching you. Aileen xxx |

I am a nurse in a nursing home and our G.P.'s receptionist won't even talk to me about the results of tests on our residents. I have to talk to the practice nurse. To be far sometimes the jargon in test results is a bit hard to interpret so it may be better if your G.P. does it. Do you have a practice nurse. She might be able to discuss your results. Anne |

Well at least you can stop worrying for now. I had serious anaemia about 5 years ago; mine was due to ovarian cysts. Cysts were removed - no problems since. |
