Hi All, My membership ends on 5th November and I don't know whether to stay or go, I do come on Genes everyday to check my tree matches but now they have changed it I can't be bothered with it anymore and although I don't really contribute to these boards I do admit to having a good old nose cause I have had some helpful tips through other peoples threads (I know that's cheeky). Hi Crystal or Tracey Please renew - so many people are not and it is such a shame. There are loads and loads of kind and helpful people on here not to mention the funny ones - funny as in haha - I sit here many a day having a good laugh . they really make my day. Hi Mary, Yes you are right there is some really nice people on here although I don't really chat as such, I have seen some really good threads and good tips too. Its just Genes tend to change things and just as you get used to one thing they change another. I did mail them about tree matches and asked if they could change it back cause I didn't understand it and all they did was send me an E-Mail back telling me how to use it. I think Genes do what they like and forget what the members might want. Tracey.x

When you consider the pittance irt costs, you only need one hot match and it's more than worth a trip to the records office. OK it may not be perfect, but if GR listen and control the boards and the site better then it'll be great

Tracey I do know what you mean - I wish they would tell us about the changes before they do them- I found it hard to get to grips with the changes on tree searches etc. but after a while you do get used to it. I have been a member for 2 years and it has only been the last 3 months or so that I plucked up the courage to add to these boards and I must admit I cannot keep off them now - it is addictive . lol Hope you change your mind and stay. Yes, I look at it this way, would you be as far on with your tree if you had not been on this site. I know I wouldn't have been. Even for £10 it is better value than any other site as you can cross reference to see if you are related, if you use site correctly.

Yes, definately renew it's one of the best sites for genealogy :))

I wasn't going to renew after the fiasco in September but I got frustrated that I was then unable to see my contacts' trees when they asked questions - so reluctantly I joined again ( not much to pay really) However when they then changed the way you can check new names added I instantly regretted it. I can't be bothered with that now and I did use to check them nearly every day. :-(( Anne

Hi, Yes Roger you are right about it being cheap one good thing there I suppose. Heather it is the best site for Genealogy with some very Knowledgable people on here. Anne I did see most of what went on in September and I was disgusted but from what I can see there is still some being silly, but that hasn't put me off maybe that's cause I haven't been picked on yet. I suppose I will have to decide before the 5th. Thanks all Crystal/Tracey.x
