Do you own one of these gas gusslers and if you do did you buy it through necessity or as the latest fashion accessory. Aileen xx

I have a Suzuki Vitara 3 door, I am disabled and it was supplied by Motobility it is easier for me to get in and out of, not all these vehicles have high engine emissions, I have heard that all London Black Cabs have been ordered to have special converters fitted at the owners own cost of £2,000 and that the centre to test taxi admissions is in Southampton, guess what 3 cabs, two that had been converted and one that hadn't were taken to be tested, guess which one of the three passed! the one that didn't have the conversion, apparently the other two failed. Only London Taxis have been ordered to have this, not Manchester,Liverpool, Newcastle or any other UK city, I think most of this hype is for Ken to make money.

Yes Aileen, sorry to say we own one, we are one of the offenders......there are only two of us at home now, and we do not need such a large car......in my defence my car is an 11 y.o. Nissan Micra, which I bought for next to nothing, with high mileage....because I don't feel the need to drive a prestige car....leave that for OH..... just in case anyone thinks I don't need my own car, I have to be available for others in case of need.....

I've had a Honda CR-V for over 2 years. I didn't buy it through necessity or as a fashion accessory. I bought it because I liked it, I could afford it and I could handle it. I'm a great fan of freedom of choice !!

re the Taxis, surely at the mot stage the emissions ARE tested, if they dont shape up, they fail, whats all this need for an EXTRA test.? as suggested, Red Ken's on an ego trip? Bob
