Edna I can understand your crossness about the cost, but at least Dr Barnadoes KEPT their records, and you therefore get a chance to see them if you pay. Many other orphanages and children's homes, simply quietly burned their records, particularly if they felt, on reflection, that they had something to hide. OC |

Could be because they really need the money to carry on their good work. This may sound nasty (I don't mean it to) the trouble is Overseas Charities,get a lot of publicity, in Great Britain. We have a lot of very needy causes in this county, which get forgotten! |

why is it so hard to find out about orphanages especially dr barnados who charge 25 pounds to look which is unrefundable wether yout successful or not, then charge another 30 pounds to send an information pack and at the same time expect you to donate something. |
