My neighbour's young, unmarried son is serving in Afghanistan. She said that people say to her 'Thank God he hasn't got a family to worry about' As she says - so what am I then, what are his sister and brother, his nephews and nieces - are we not his family? OC |

Sons don't always tell you their feelings but it doesn't mean they don't have them. Bless your son and hope he stays safe where ever he is. Liz |

I have been having a natter with my soldier son on the phone, I was telling him about my writing for college. I was asked to write about the worst day in my life. I wrote about the day he left for Iraq. How I had watch him sleep the night before and stroked his hair and traced his face with my finger. The morning he left I watched him get on the coach and was surprized to find him staring at me though the window. I remebered thinking. What was on his mind? tonight he said I wanted to remeber you waving and smiling . So if I got shot it would be my last memory of you. YES. I just cried. |
