good evening everyone. hope you are all in good health. well, i have just made my first 'winter dinner'! i have just dished up beef casserole and HOME MADE DUMPERLINGS! served with creamy mash potatoes and broccolli! and may i tell you all that it is the most delicious dinner i have tasted all year. my family know that this is the time for 'bung in' dinners. i 'bung' the meat and the veg in a pot, then i 'bung' it in the oven, then i 'bung' it on their plates and they 'bung' it down their throats! tomorow we might have lamb 'bung in'. i will let you know........ by the way.... my bung ins warm the cockels of your soul! there aint nothing like it!!!!

I usually do bung ins if I'm alone - can't be bothered to stand fiddling about in the kitchen if it's just for one. If it's a bung in, it's underway and I can have it when I feel like it. Jay

Sounds luvverly Babydoll.....shame I have to miss out on potatoes and dumplings though......my Dad used to make what we all fondly called a 'bug..er-up'.....it consisted of anything available that he could put in this pot....never the same twice, but it always tasted good.......my Dad was great at cooking, and right till the end was trying to mix and match his food......eccentric to the end.....

talking of coloured mash.... one of nefews hated swede, so i convinced him that it was orange flavoured mash potatoe, he fell for it right up until he was 15!
