Try scotfamtree.11.forumer.com - newish Scottish site with some great volunteers who may be able to help. You might hit lucky with freecen for 1851 but not all areas are on there. 1861 is on scotlandspeople but pay to view. Because Monklands is Glasgow area someone from scotfamtree might have a local listing. I've got 1881 if they might be on it?

Hello Everyone, I thought I would try to see if someone could try to find This Thomas LAING In the 1861 Scottish Census if possible or even the 1851. I wanted to find out if more children had been born or if Thomas died, and if he related. My 3rd Great Grandparents were: David LAING & Helen RAE. Children James, born New Monkland, c.1830 Mary, born New Monkland. 1840 Isabella born New Monkland,c.1844 Margaret born New Monkland, c.1845 And baby Thomas who was supposedly christened on the 17th October 1847. It is for curiosity sake that I wish to find him or other children born to David & Helen. Plus to tidy up my files. Ski Danne,Australia
