If the registration document went with the car, to belgium, then all previous owners are listed on it. sounds like the guy didnt re- register it in belgium we get the same thing here, a foreigner buys a car with some tax and mot on it........the name and address he buys it under doesnt exist.. and.....drives it around with still the previous owners name on it............ dont know how ebay works? did cash change hands or was it through paypal or something? Ignore it. Although Europe is now working together for speeding fines etc I am sure this does not include parking tickets. I smell a scam, do not worry & do not send any money.

Presumably you sent the slip off the log book to DVLA to say you had sold it to Mr whatever his name was, and gave the new owner the log book which he should have ten sent off. But as it then went to Belgium I don't know what would have happened if he didn't send it off. I would think, as long as you have the letter from DVLA you should be OK. have you contacted DVLA to ask them about it? ann Glos

I think that you have covered yourself by sending the DVL stuff to the collection company.

Well, tell the company they can have the car as recompense for what they're owed. Jay

Hi, Think someone is trying it on. Another scam. Where does it end. If you have done everything right in selling the vehicle here in the UK and have all the documention, then tell them to take a jump off a short pier. The vehicle has probably been sold on again over there and someone has seen your name in the log book and chancing their luck. I'd notify the police and the DVLA just to cover yourself and give them copies of all correspondence you get from the low lifes. Aileen xx
