I should think if you put sport time taken up against soap time Jim, sport would still take more time. I have already admitted I enjoy the soaps (well some of them) and am not afraid to admit it. It does not make me any the less an intelligent human being. There are a lot of housebound and lonely people for whom the soaps are their surrogate families. And some of the soaps are actually very good drama. Ann glos |

I enjoy my Formula 1, and also the BTCC races and Snooker. I hate and detest Soaps so I refuse to watch them. It wouldn't be so bad if there were only two or three, but these days there are literally hundreds of 'Communities' living in every location and situation you can think of, and being filmed living lives written for them by a series of Script Writers who need to get out more. |

I have to say, it has to be hard due to time zones and live sport, it will clash with fave tv soaps etc. I got so sick of ITV and the likes for repeats etc and alot of garbage that i went for Sky and of course its Sky in the main who have my beloved Rugby sport. I love to watch the drama programmes, im not a soap lover, though do try and see Emmerdale. I would agree, there should be channels dedicated to sports, trouble is, you have to pay for it, eg Sky. I also get annoyed that i pay for Sky and watch little what i call normal tv and pay for a TV licence for BBC1 and 2 that i rarely watch. We will never keep us all happy eh. |

Please dont get me wrong , i enjoy most sports, but we are now getting saturated with motor sports.especialy on ITV, and in my opinion it s not what viewers want, it is having an adverse effect on the the viewers,,,,, and video shops are reaping the benefit.......well mine is anyway !!!!!! yes i fully agree we should have dedicated channels for these sports. yes a very good idea. |

I think its about time both BBC and ITV had dedicated sports channels then those not interested in sport could be entertained again at the weekends John |

I totally agree with you, Lee. Even after hogging 3 long hours and with the clock almost at 8 p.m. they had yet another commercial break before going back for yet another postmortem ! As you say Grrrrrrr........ |

Well I was fed up because I actually like relaxing and watching Emmerdale and Corrie on Sunday evenings. i do ike Formula one. (or any sport for that matter). Not all of Britain enjoys sport although you wouldn't think so to look at the TV programs. We actually watched Songs of Praise and The Antiques Roadshow on BBC. ann Glos |

Donna I enjoy most sports,, rugger, football, but i feel that it should be at appropriate times, not on prime time television on a Sunday night, that used to be set aside for family entertainment. now it seems that Sunday is just one more day of sports, and minority sports at that,,,,,,,,,where as in the past sports were mainly on a saturday,,,,,,,, but now we have horse racing on sunday as well televised. I dont agree with that at all,,,,,,,, |

Lee I'm sorry but I love F1, last night was the season climax, Michael Scumacher retired and had a slim chance of retiring as World Champion again. Would rather watch that than soaps!! gave them up years ago lol. |

Oh dear Lee, your so gonna hate me lol. Id rather miss soaps etc to watch Formula1, (seasons over now your ok) and my saturdays (if im home) are watching any rugby on, if i go out, its recorded to watch it later. I love sports (tho footy bores me a bit). Having said that, i love Prime Suspect etc. |

Is any one else fed up to the back teeth with this constant disruption of Television for minority sports events,,, ie last night with F1 racing,,,,,,, it was on from 5.oo to 8.oo on ITV, and then on BBC 2 snooker for 3 and a half hours,,,,,,,;; Bring back the good old days on a Sunday night = a comedy, a film, a variety show with singers dancers, comediens, groups.. one day someone from these companies will ask Joe Public What the majority want, and it aint F1, but i'm not holding my breath |
