I've heard of expanding one's family tree, but encourage GR members by displaying sex ads. on the Genes homepage is several steps too far. What does anyone else think? |

Hi Tom, No sex ads on my home page. Could you please explain (without being too rude) what ad appeared on yours. If you find any ad on GR likely to offend family decency, I suggest you register your alarm with GR. They specifically list such material as breaching their terms and conditions so if it has slipped through they need to know ASAP. |

Everytime I click on hot matches I get an adult dating line ad pop up with pictures in various shades of undress on it. no wonder my oh is getting into genealogy. lol |

Tried that Jackie My ads stay the same _ but have got a programme, son put on to stop popups,so just get those on actual GR site |

Reckon they've got a few 'spammers' putting ads on GR. I've got Paddy power, car insurance, and M & S at the moment. Sylvx |

It's nothing to do with GR which ads come up on your screen. Get a decent pop up blocker, and you shouldnt be able to see them. I can't see them. |

I have no porn ads on my home page but I do have a holiday banner across the top, like Georgina I have to allow pop ups or I can not access my new tree! bit of a pain in the backside but there's nothing that GR can do apparently. Gillie. |

Morning all, I have one for Thomson holidays at the mo, which is rubbing salt into the wound when I couldn't get the hol. we wanted from them at a reasonable price so o.h.has cancelled the idea of going abroad next month! Some of the ads are so flickery I am sure they could be a problem for those with epilepsy etc. Liz |

Yes Georgina, I mailed them when the 'new tree facility' had been put on because I couldn't access it, they mailed back saying this below, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The tree builder will open and display in a new window. If you have pop ups blocked from the genes site the new window will not open. Please check that you do not have a pop up blocker switched on (tools, pop up blocker) and that you select to allow pop ups from the genes site. You pop up options can be found in tools, internet options, privacy. Many thanks in advance of your co-operation. I have allowed pop ups on GR only and it now works fine. |

Elaine, this is the only site I get adds from since having to allow pop ups, we run a business from home and have our own server, we run AVG Anti virus, Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal plus Firewalls, I also have the Googler bar that blocks pop upsbut if I block GR popups my tree wont work. Update I have tried it with pop ups blocked and the tree viewer works!! Gillie |
