you might get some better results, Tom if you ask someone on the records board to help. It is likely the records will be held at Kew, and available for photocopying....... We found one of my wifes rellies there, got his service history, seems he spent more time in the glass house than in service.......LOL Bob |

Thanks for the suggestions put forward I will have a try at the National Archives card to see what it gives in the way of information I do not have. As to my Fathers first Wife, I have tried now for a couple of years, it will be pure luck if I ever find her! listed. |

There seem to be a lot of Edward Fagans (none with T for second name) in the 1901, mostly around Liverpool area. ann Glos |

Don't reconise the name sorry. Have you seen this? from National archives, documents online. Medal card of Fagan, Edward T Corps ....................................... Regiment No ........ Rank Royal West Kent Regiment ...... 265662 ................ Private Kent Cyclist Battalion ............... TF/1469 ............... Private Date 1914-1920 Catalogue reference WO 372/7 It will cost £3.50 to download the image Re. Father's first wife. Have you looked through the BMD images for a marriage of your father from the time he was 14? (minimum age of marriage changed in the 1920's from 12 fro girls and 14 for boys to 16 for all) The index should then give you the maiden name of your dad's wife. Ancestry has the images available free to anyone. |

I am going to make one more attempt with this one. I have three 1st World War Army medals that have been in my household all of my life, it is only the past 2 years that I have really looked at them with any interest. They were issued to:- Pte. E T Fagan, Royal West Kents Cyc Btn, ironically cycling has been my love for many years. I have a feeling that somewhere they might be connected with my family history, have never been able to trace my Fathers first Wife. Anyone out there recognise the name? |
