Little Lost Cousin, I will admit to scraping the barrel with the dead kiddies, like you said it was quite common so I guess he wins, Darn! Love the Idea of a champion Draughts player! Helen.

well I would say the suicide wins as there were quite a few families where children died young. As for my lot my biggest claim is my 3 great grandfather wa a champion draughts player in 1858/9 playing for prize money of £100/£200 which equals £6000/£12000 in todays money. Wonder what he did with it as it never got passed down the line to me Hope he didnt squander it on wine women and song lol

OH is also researching his family, have just spent morning trying to top tales of woe down the generations! He has a suicide but I have a family where all 5 children died - who wins? Lol!
